We work with you to develop unique creative and educational workshops for your institution. This may include all aspects of our 'Full Circle' consultancy approach or a selection. You may want us to 'identify', 'devise' and 'implement' or just 'implement' simple one off workshops.
assess current mental health provision and education at your institution or in relation to all stakeholders
identify key target participants, aims, desired outcomes and necessary outcome measures
devise mental health programmes and workshops with your input every step of the way
implement Open Words creative mental health education workshops or source suitable facilitators
evaluate the outcomes of the workshops and create summary reports
advise your institution on how to move forwards with mental health provision
Open Words would choose appropriate creative activities, rooted in dramatherapy practice, for your desired outcomes and themes. Activities can include improvisation, role play, character building, script writing, movement and art work, either in small groups, large groups or one-to-one.
The circular workshop structure is also influenced by Sesame dramatherapy:
Focus/warm-up: easing participants in to the creative activities with warm up ‘games’ and activities to create a comfortable, creative and safe atmosphere.
Bridge-in/main event: the activities will then become more engaging, really getting to the heart of the topic and often moving in to group work.
Bridge out/Grounding: the session would then begin to end with some self-reflection, processing, and discussion. Grounding activities ensure everyone feels satisfied with their experience and feel ready to take their experience in to their wider context.
Each participant will also receive a paper or digital Wellbeing Guide to take away with them. The content is specifically designed for your workshop.
As the organisation, you will be provided with a basic Summary Report, but more detailed reports can be provided for an additional fee.
